Shields are used by everyone in Tibia, except those who use a crossbow, bow or two-handed weapon like Double Axe and can only be placed in the shield slot in your Inventory.
Use a shield makes you block some creatures attacks or other players, and will enhance your skill of shielding.
There are also shields that offer some additional attributes in addition to defense, as in the case of Rainbow Shield, or Shield of Corruption and Ornate Shield.
For Druids and Sorcerers, there is the option of using Spellbooks, which in addition to behaving as a common shield, offer advantages of having a lower weight and additional attributes for mages
The most defensive shield in all of Unline World is the Carnifes shield, and the most defensive in Rookgaard, is the Copper Shield.
